Finally, back on the road, on my way to the Azokh Cave, home to the oldest fire pit in human history. The fire was lit here some 600,000 years ago. I've heard this and can't verify it. Azerbaijan boasts Yanar Dağ, the "burning mountain," which burns year-round thanks to its natural gas. There are over 400 mud volcanoes there, more than any other country in the world. And the capital, Baku, boasts the Flame Towers, three skyscrapers whose shapes resemble gigantic flames. I hope it will be a fiery journey.
